ここ暫くは雨が降ることが無かったシアトル。春の訪れを色々なところで感じるようになりました。毎年3月辺りから綺麗なピンクの花がシアトル中に咲くようになります。残念ながら花に詳しくないので、梅なのか桜なのか何なのか分かりませんが、毎年きれいだなぁと思っている花です。

アメリカに住むようになってから特に、日本らしいもの、日本を思わせるようなものが好きになりました。歳を重ねているのも一つの理由かもしれませんが。。。このランプは現在住んでいる家に引っ越した際に義理の両親にいただいたものです。かなり日本っぽくて好きです。特に竹の絵が透かしで入っている辺りが更に良い味を出してますね。ちなみに、このランプを義理の両親はアリゾナで行われたクラフトフェアで購入したとか。サンディエゴ郊外のLa MesaにあるTakumi Designsの作。

シアトルに長年住んでいることが関係しているのかもしれませんが、一日に一杯のコーヒーを飲む生活をして暫く経ちます。普段は便利だという理由で、某大手コーヒーチェインでコーヒーを買うことが多いのですが、本当は家でゆっくりと、気に入ったカップで楽しむのが大好きです。このカップは暫く前に姉が送ってくれたもの。日本っぽさと洋式のバランスが取れた感じが気に入ってます。

長年住んでいるシアトルの夜景。今回初めて撮ってみました。まだまだ寒い中、少し凍えながら三脚を使って撮ってみました。実際に撮ってみると、市販されているポスターや葉書の夜景を撮っている写真家はすごいなぁと改めて思いました。

もうすぐ春。バレンタインズデイに奥さんにあげた花です。オーソドックスにバラとも思ったんですが、店先で綺麗だったチューリップにしてみました。中でもオレンジが一番鮮やかだったように思います。
Spring is just around the corner. This is a photo of flowers that I gave to my wife on St. Valentine’s Day. I was thinking about getting roses as usual. But tulips looked more beautiful at the store, and the color of orange was the most vibrant.

地元静岡の駿府城で。人なれしているため、餌をくれないか待っているところを撮りました。
This photo of pigeons were taked at Sunpu Castle in the city of Shizuoka. Since these pigeons and many more are used to and actually waiting for human to feed, it was easy to take this photo.

再び富士山。三保の松原と呼ばれる海岸より。夕日の色が上手く出なかったのが残念。
Again, it is Mt. Fuji. It was photographed from a local beach called Miho no Matsubara. Too bad, I was not able to fully capture how beautiful it was with the sunset.

富士山。年末年始に久々に日本に戻った際に撮ったもの。地元静岡にある日本平ホテルから。子供の頃から何も思わず毎日目にしてきた富士山ですが、日本を離れてからは特にパワーを与えてくれるように思える山です。
